Refund Policy

This policy outlines when booking payments may be refunded and how partial refunds are calculated.

Eligible refund scenarios

  • No payment is collected if no driver accepts before the request window ends and the booking is cancelled.
  • Full refund if a paid booking is cancelled by HandyDriver due to service failure.
  • Refunds for duplicate or accidental payments after validation.

Customer cancellation rules

  • For ad hoc bookings, cancelling at least 1 hour before trip start receives a full refund.
  • For ad hoc bookings cancelled less than 1 hour before trip start, the default 1-hour charge of $35 is retained and the remaining balance is refunded.
  • The same refund timing applies to round trips, drop-off trips, and drop-off-your-car-without-you bookings unless HandyDriver cancels due to service failure.
  • For recurring bookings, the same daily rule applies for each scheduled trip occurrence.
  • When cancelling the remaining trips in a recurring series, each paid future occurrence is refunded based on its own trip start time.

How refunds are processed

  • Approved refunds are initiated back to the original payment method.
  • Refund timing depends on your bank or card provider after HandyDriver initiates the refund.
  • Bank and card network timelines typically range from 5 to 10 business days.
